Protests: Addressing Issues, Not Blaming

LP Criticizes Tinubu and APC

The Labour Party (LP) has advised President Bola Tinubu and his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). They suggest that instead of looking for scapegoats to blame for their failed policies, they should address the consequences of their actions. Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, shared this opinion in an interview with Vanguard on Tuesday.

APC’s Allegations

In response to the APC’s claims that opposition parties were behind the protests against the current economic hardships in the country, the LP Spokesman spoke up. He stated that the ruling party is simply avoiding the truth. Even members of the APC who are ordinary citizens are suffering just like everyone else and have no reason to hide behind party support anymore.

APC’s Role in Protests

The LP Spokesman pointed out that it is widely known that the APC is responsible for organizing and supporting sponsored protests. He finds it laughable that the party now suggests that Nigerians who are suffering due to the administration’s bad policy decisions were sponsored to protest. He mentioned the example of people in Minna, Niger State, who took to the streets to express their frustration. These citizens are not members of opposition parties but ordinary people who are bearing the brunt of the government’s incompetence and lack of preparation for governance.

Shared Struggles

Regardless of political affiliations, religion, or ethnicity, all Nigerians are affected by the skyrocketing prices of goods and services. Many parents can no longer afford to send their children to school, and the government has even failed to pay January salaries due to a lack of planning. The LP’s advice to the APC is to focus on finding solutions to the country’s problems, especially the economic ones that they have created, instead of engaging in propaganda.
