House of David Church in Lagos Suffers Devastating Fire
Fire Breaks Out in Church Auditorium
Oh no! The Household of David church in Lagos, Nigeria had a terrible fire at their church building. It happened on Wednesday morning at around 10:00 am.
What Caused the Fire?
The fire started because the ceiling of the church’s auditorium was getting too hot. It collapsed and caught fire. The fire spread and damaged a lot of things in the church.
Agencies Respond to the Fire
When the fire broke out, different agencies came to help. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Alausa and Ikeja Fire Stations, LASAMBUS, LASEMA, and Red Cross were all there to put out the fire and save as much as they could.
Losses from the Fire
The fire destroyed many things in the church. The auditorium and the church’s belongings like chairs and air conditioners were all burnt.
Pastor’s Response
The Senior Pastor of Household of David, Olusola Osunmakinde, shared a video on Instagram talking about the fire. He said it was a painful experience. Some people even made fun of him and asked where Jesus was when the fire happened. But Pastor Osunmakinde said they are not discouraged and will continue with their conference.
