The Meeting at Aso Rock Villa

So, there was a meeting at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja. President Bola Tinubu, the Rivers Governor Mr. Siminalayi Fubara, his Deputy Mrs. Ngozi Odu, a former governor of the State Peter Odili, and the immediate past governor now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesome Wike were all there. They talked for about three hours to try and find a solution to the crisis.

Wike’s Arrival

One important person who arrived at the meeting was the FCT Minister, Wike. He played a big role in helping Fubara and other elected officers in the last general elections. Wike got to the State House at about 7 pm and went straight into the President’s office where the meeting was held.

The Resolution

At the end of the meeting, they came up with an eight-point resolution. This means they agreed on eight important things to help solve the crisis. The President emphatically declared that all lawsuits concerning the political crisis in Rivers State must be dropped without delay. Furthermore, they insisted that Fubara should promptly present the 2024 budget to the full House of Assembly. Additionally, the President demanded an immediate halt to all impeachment proceedings against him.

The Demolition of the State House of Assembly Complex

During this crisis, the state House of Assembly complex was burned down. It’s a really sad thing that happened. Security personnel also blocked the entrance, which made things even more difficult.

That’s all for now. Remember, even when there are big problems, people can come together and find solutions. Stay positive!
