Ceasefire Call Amid Gaza Conflict

Ceasefire Call Amid Gaza Conflict

Islamic Human Rights Organization Advocates for Peace Amid Ongoing Conflict

MURIC, an Islamic human right organization, calls for an immediate ceasefire, blaming the conflict on the ongoing oppression of Palestinians.

Professor Ishaq Akintola, MURIC’s Executive Director, urged a ceasefire, addressing core Palestinian issues and opening a humanitarian corridor. He stated, “War dehumanizer; end the violence.”

The six-day conflict began with Hamas attacking Israel in October 2023. MURIC pointed to the conflict’s roots in the 1947 UN land allocation and Israeli expansion causing Palestinian suffering.

He criticized the UN for not securing Palestinian autonomy, citing limited freedom and Israeli control. They noted extrajudicial killings, arrests, and home demolitions worsening the crisis.

The desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque triggered the conflict, pushing Palestinians to the brink due to injustices, says MURIC.

MURIC rejects the “terrorist” label for Hamas, supporting their fight for justice, equal rights, and dignity for Palestinians, stating, “Justice is the essence of peace.”

MURIC noted oppression leading to self-defense, accusing Israel of brute force and likening it to Neville Chamberlain.

Israel Prepares for Gaza Invasion

MURIC warned of Gaza’s destruction, Palestinian lives at risk, and Israel’s actions exposed. They faulted the U.S. for bias and Israel ignoring UN resolutions.

MURIC noted three key developments: Israel’s invincibility perception, U.S. support posing threats to democracy and justice, and Netanyahu’s Gaza actions.

MURIC highlighted past statements by Bill Clinton, suggesting Netanyahu’s impact on the two-state solution and its peace process implications.

As the conflict persists, MURIC urged Hamas to spare hostages and called for an immediate ceasefire by all parties.

The dire situation in Gaza has claimed over 1,100 Palestinian lives, including children, and 1,200 Israeli casualties. Call for an immediate ceasefire and diplomacy are widespread
