Naira Marley and Sam Larry have filed a fundamental rights suit against the Lagos magistrate and police, demanding a total of N40 million in damages. On October 4th, the police commissioner sought and the chief magistrate granted a 21-day remand order to detain them in police custody. However, this order expired on October 26th without renewal. The artists are urging the court to address the ongoing deprivation of their freedom and resolve the case in their favor.
