Rivers House of Assembly Under Demolition

Demolition of the Assembly Complex

Something big happened in Rivers State today. The State House of Assembly is being demolished! Can you believe it? About 10 bulldozers drove into the Assembly complex and started tearing it down. It’s like a scene from a movie!

What Happened Before the Demolition?

Before the demolition started, the factional Speaker, Edison Ehie, and other lawmakers who support the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, held a meeting. They said that the Assembly complex needed repairs because there was an explosion there a few days ago. They also said that the governor would find another place for them to meet while the repairs are being done.

Netizens React on Social Media

People on social media are going crazy over this news. They can’t believe what they’re seeing! One person tweeted, “Wike and Fubara watch. It’s now 2-2.” Another user said, “Governor Sim Fubara has ordered the demolition of the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex. Now this is madness.”

Someone else tweeted, “I’m not a fan of Gov. Fubara or Wike, but any fight against Wike is a good fight. Dazzol.” Another person wrote, “This River state type of politics is something else. Gov Fubara is demolishing the Rivers State House assembly this morning! Is he playing or what?”

But some people support Governor Fubara. One person said, “I love the courage of Fubara to fight Wike. I’m sure Wike never saw this coming. Fubara must have surrounded himself with good advisors because his moves towards fighting Wike are top-notch.”

Rivers State in Turmoil

27 Members Defect to the APC

On Monday, 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly left the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). They said that there was too much division within the PDP, so they decided to switch sides.

The APC in the state is happy about this and said that they are open to receiving more defectors from the PDP. They want to grow their party and make sure the state is run properly.
