Police and Army Rescue Kidnapped Victims in Abuja

Rescue Operation in Abuja

Great news! The police and army have joined forces to rescue several people who were kidnapped in Abuja. They were taken from the Zuma 1 area of Bwari Area Council on January 2nd. But thanks to the hard work of the security team, they were saved on Saturday night.

How the Rescue Happened

The FCT Police Command and the Nigerian Army worked together to carry out raids in the Federal Capital Territory. They were determined to find and rescue the kidnapped victims. Finally, on Saturday night, they found them in the Kajuru forest in Kaduna state.

The Kidnapping Incident

Let’s go back to the day of the kidnapping. On January 2nd and 3rd, some bad people attacked the Zuma community in Bwari Area Council. They hurt two policemen and kidnapped 10 people, including a father and his six daughters. The victims quickly asked for help from a man named Alhaji, who called the police. Unfortunately, Alhaji was shot by the kidnappers.

The Ransom Demand

After taking the victims, the kidnappers asked for a ransom of N60 million. They even killed the eldest daughter, Nabeeha, because the ransom was not paid quickly enough. Later, they increased the ransom to N100 million. It was a very scary situation for the kidnapped victims and their families.

The Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun, for sending the Special Intervention Squad to help. This squad has made a big difference in the security of Abuja. The Commissioner also promised to continue working hard to keep the area safe for everyone.
