Passengers were stranded due to protest.

Right now, there’s a big problem at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Passengers who were hoping to continue their journeys are stuck and can’t go anywhere. This is all because some people are protesting outside the airport.

The Protesters

The people who are causing all this trouble are members of two labor unions: the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress. They are really angry about something that happened to their leader, Joe Ajaero, in Imo State.

What’s Happening

These protesters have blocked the entrance of the airport, which means no vehicles can get in or out. This is a big problem because many people rely on cars to get to the airport. Now, those cars are stuck outside and the passengers are left stranded.

A Passenger’s Experience

One of the passengers, Siraj Abubakar, shared his experience. He said that the protesters stopped vehicles from entering the airport at around 8:30 am on Thursday. He also mentioned that the protesters are upset about the treatment of the NLC chairman in Imo State. But Abubakar wonders how that has anything to do with them in Abuja.

No Response Yet

People have been trying to reach the officials at the airport to find a solution, but they haven’t responded yet. It’s frustrating for the passengers who just want to continue their journeys.

Flight Suspensions

As a result of this protest, aviation unions all over the country have decided to suspend all flights to Owerri, Imo State. They are also not allowing Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State to enter any airport.
