Ogun CNG Buses Launch

Introduction of DapoCNG Bus

The Ogun State government has introduced Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered buses called ‘DapoCNG Bus’. These buses have started operating along the Mowe-Ibafo-Berger Lagos axis of the state.

Operating Schedule

The buses will be available for commuters from 6 am to 9 pm on Mondays to Saturdays, and from 7 am to 6 pm on Sundays. The bus stops along this route include Mowe, Ibafo, Magboro, Arepo, and New Garage in Berger.

Transport Rates

The State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Gbenga Dairo, has stated that the fares for the CNG-powered buses range from N200 to a maximum of N400.00.

Smooth Take-off

Mr. Dairo has assured that all necessary arrangements have been made with transport unions and local government officials to ensure a smooth start for the bus operations. The services are highly anticipated, especially with the Christmas activities at the RCCG camp.

Convenient, Safe, and Affordable

Commuters along this axis are encouraged to use these buses as they are convenient, safe, and affordable. The government promises to provide a pleasant and smooth experience for passengers during their journey.

Cost-effective and Environmentally Friendly

Governor Dapo Abiodun announced the deployment of CNG Technology and E-Mobility as a better alternative and viable means of transportation in the Gateway State. This transportation system is cost-effective and has a minimal impact on the environment. It is a response to the removal of fuel subsidies, which has increased transport costs for commuters in the state.

Expansion Plans

The scheme initially started along the Adatan to Ita-Oshin corridor in the Abeokuta metropolis. However, Governor Abiodun plans to extend it to other towns and cities in the state.
