Hoodlums Fire on NDLEA in Edo

Hoodlums Fire on NDLEA in Edo

Armed Hoodlums Block Access to Community

Some bad guys, known as hoodlums, tried to stop the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) from getting to a community called Opuje in Edo State. They blocked all the roads so the NDLEA officers couldn’t reach the warehouses in the forest.

Warehouses Full of Drugs

These warehouses are filled with a lot of drugs that are supposed to be sent all over the country for the Christmas and New Year seasons. The NDLEA wants to stop this from happening.

Officers Injured in the Attack

The hoodlums shot at the NDLEA officers and three of them got hurt. One officer was even shot in the head! The cars they were using also got hit by bullets. The injured officers were taken to the hospital, and one of them had to have surgery to remove the bullets from his brain.

Similar Attack Happened Before

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. About 11 months ago, some young people working for drug dealers attacked the NDLEA officers when they came to destroy the warehouses. Those warehouses had a lot of cannabis in them.

NDLEA Fights Back

The NDLEA officers were trying to stop the drug cartels from distributing drugs all over the country. They had already destroyed some warehouses in another forest. But when they tried to enter the Opuje forest, the hoodlums started shooting at them. The officers fought back for over two hours before they could leave the area.

NDLEA Chief Warns the Attackers

The head of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), said that the people behind these attacks won’t get away with it. He promised to bring them to justice and put an end to their criminal activities.
